Arda Güler is still struggling to play as a regular for Real Madrid and this could affect the player’s future development.
Former Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil has urged his old club to protect and promote Arda Guler’s talents more than they currently do. With the 19-year-old midfielder playing a small role in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

He struggled with injuries at first and has struggled to make an impact in Ancelotti’s side. Mostly coming off the bench, with one goal and three assists in 23 appearances in all competitions this season.
For Ozil, Guler is similar in style to himself and his ability to impact games at Madrid. And has called on his former club to do more to promote and protect the 19-year-old’s talent.
‘I see a lot of myself in Arda Guler, we need to do more to protect players of his calibre,’ Ozil said.
Turkey coach Vincenzo Montella has previously expressed his concerns over the situation of Real Madrid’s understudy Güler and he is set to make a decision on whether to include the 19-year-old in Turkey’s squad for their Nations League play-off against Hungary in March.
